Marjorie Victor embarked on her career as a jewelry designer at the age of seven, selling her handmade bracelets at her elementary school art fair. Through the years, her style has matured, but her love of creating and adorning others with her work still brings her the same joy it did in her childhood. After graduating from Barnard College with a degree in art history and painting, Marjorie Victor continued to create jewelry for family and friends while freelancing in the design and fashion industries, most notably as assistant to industrial designer Eva Zeisel. When she decided to pursue jewelry design professionally, Marjorie moved to Philadelphia to learn the craft of metal-smithing working as a jeweler's apprentice. She further honed her skills studying fashion design and sculpture while on fellowship in Paris and later in Mexico where she studied jewelry design and fabrication. Marjorie officially launched her collection to the public in 2003. Her organic designs quickly caught the eyes of stylists and buyers alike and have since been featured in numerous specialty stores throughout the United States and Japan including Anthropologie, Henri Bendel, Fred Segal and Tomorrowland in Tokyo. Her work has also appeared on the pages of several publications including The Sundance Catalog, Elle Magazine, and Lucky Magazine. Currently Marjorie Victor both designs and handcrafts her jewelry in her Brooklyn, NY studio. The kaleidoscope of fashion and art in the vibrant city she calls home provides endless inspiration for continuing design innovation. |
